Alectra Energy Solutions Delivers Critical Transformer Solution
United Lands, a leading real estate developer in the Greater Toronto and Hamilton Area, faced a major challenge during phase two of their Stonebrook Private Residences project in Mississauga. They needed a partner to deliver a high voltage transformer solution that fit their specific design, or risk costly delays.
“The only way to proceed with our design was to purchase and install our own transformer—a costly process that could take over a year,” said Colin Pillar, Vice President of Development and Construction at United Lands. “This delay in energizing the building would have impacted occupancy and led to significant financial losses.”
Alectra Power Services (APS), a subsidiary of Alectra Energy Solutions, stepped in, making the capital investment to own and operate United Lands’ high voltage transformer and switchgear. By designing and procuring the necessary equipment, APS kept the project on schedule, ensuring residents could move in as planned.
