Day and night, no matter the weather, operators at Alectra Energy Solutions’ Control Room in Vaughan keep a watchful eye on the 97 installations in the team’s extensive solar portfolio, including one in Windsor, which is one of the largest rooftop solar projects in Ontario.

At the Jamieson Wellness manufacturing facility, over 2,300 rooftop solar panels generate roughly 615 MWh of clean electricity each year – and have been since they were installed in 2012 as part of a roof-lease installation under the former Feed-In Tariff program. Since that time, Alectra Energy Solutions’ Solar Services team has been on watch 24/7, monitoring output, optimizing performance and keeping an eye out for any natural occurrence that might affect the asset’s efficiency. The team is also responsible for the 4,700-squaremetre installation’s overall maintenance.

In addition to being one of the longest-running, full-service Solar operations and maintenance providers in Ontario, Alectra Energy Solutions’ Solar team also operates a solar testing and research centre in Barrie, allowing them access to leading-edge technology and protocols and keeping them informed of the latest developments in the industry.

In 2024, Alectra Energy Solutions’ solar portfolio generated 23.9 gigawatt hours of electricity, enough to power over 2,800 typical homes for a year.
